This chapter was re-chartered in 1994 when a group of dedicated Certified Medical Assistants were united by Nancy Walters, CMA, an educator in the CAAHEP Medical Assisting program at Cincinnati State. These individuals saw the need to create a formal networking and support system in the local medical assisting community.

Two goals of this initial group were to provide continuing education opportunities to their members and to create recognition for the medical assisting profession. Since that time, SWOCMA members have built on these ideals and grown to a current membership of 137 as benefits of membership are realized. Continuing education is offered free at regular local meetings, and at affordable rates at local workshops and annual state and national conferences.

This site is dedicated to the Medical Assisting professionals looking for an opportunity to connect and grow..
