Letter from the President

Greetings!

Please see the list of new officers on the contact page.

The summer is going by quickly and the SWOCMA executive board, have already been working on the strategic plan for the next 9 months; planning ways to build membership, scheduling CEU Events, and designing ways to get members active in their chapter and organization. Lisa Courts, our Treasurer, has emailed a letter to SWOCMA area members, inviting you to join in on the free CEUs, supporting your leaders, and mentoring others, as well as networking with your peers for career opportunities. This year SWOCMA is changing the meeting format to 4 Saturday mornings, with a breakfast and offering more CEUs at a time. See the schedule for the upcoming CEU Events, and stay in-touch here for updates. To encourage our leaders and other members to be involved, it was decided that SWOCMA would send a few selected members to the AAMA Conference. The selected members must be active AAMA members and involved in the organization at chapter, state, or national level in any of the last 2 years. SWOCMA is giving a $135 one time gift to pay towards their registration to the 2017 AAMA National Conference in Cincinnati. The selected member, if they accepted the gift of $135, is required to attend a leadership session any day of the conference and share feedback of their experience, at the November meeting.

Congratulations to the following members who have accepted the gift;
Jamie Schramm, CMA (AAMA), Janice Young, CMA (AAMA), Kathy Harknett, CMA (AAMA), Kirren Finn, CMA (AAMA),
Lisa Courts, CMA (AAMA), Vanessa Gosser, CMA (AAMA),
April Schachleiter, CMA (AAMA).

The OSSMA 2018 Annual Conference - April 26th – 28th , 2018 Holiday Inn Dayton / Fairborn I-675, Fairborn, OH, is hosted by Montgomery County Chapter. SWOCMA can likely send 7- 8 Delegates to the conference and pay their full registration. This has been tradition with this chapter providing that funds are available. The Delegates would be representing the voice of their chapter and vote on issues or policy amendments. It starts with you, and this is a great opportunity to get involved in your chapter, to go to the conference with your full registration paid in advance, 3 days of free CEUs, and meet the leadership who are working hard to support the mission of the AAMA Medical Assistant. Come to the November meeting to be nominated and/or vote on who goes to conference.
